Padel, often described as a blend of tennis and racquetball, is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Originating in Mexico in the 1960s, the game has since gained immense popularity across Europe, particularly in Spain. Played on a smaller court enclosed by walls, padel is a doubles game that prioritizes strategy and teamwork over sheer strength. Its simplicity and social nature appeal to players of all ages and skill levels.

Family Vacations in Turks and Caicos

When traveling with your family to Turks and Caicos, there are endless possibilities for fun and excitement. The environment provides plenty of opportunities for exploration and physical activity, and family-friendly tour companies and restaurants have something to offer all ages. There are numerous beaches with calm, shallow waters, and there are no poisonous snakes or insects here, so it’s the ideal destination for families with both younger and older children.

Keeping the Entire Family Entertained in Turks and Caicos

One of the great things about Turks and Caicos is that the whole family can do activities together. Whether you have young children or teenagers, you can find fun things to do that will keep kids entertained for hours on end and give you some quality time together.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding along the beach is one of the quintessential Turks and Caicos activities. Companies like Provo Ponies can set the whole family up with friendly ponies for horseback rides. Rides take place along the white sand of Long Bay Beach and even through the water. The tours include safety equipment and guides.

Snorkeling

The calm waters surrounding Providenciales are teeming with marine life, which makes them perfect for snorkeling. Bight Reef and Smith’s Reef are popular with families because you can access them directly from the beach. Both reefs have an abundance of sea creatures including sea turtles, eagle rays, parrotfish, and seahorses.

Boat Trips to Remote Islands

A boat trip is a fun day out for the entire family. As well as a great way to see more of Turks and Caicos. Big Blue Unlimited and Island Vibes both offer family-friendly boat charters. Trips include exploring deserted beaches, snorkeling, food, and drinks. You can also customize your trip with a beach BBQ or your preferred water sports.

Eco Tours

Eco-tours are unique excursions that involve kayaking through mangrove forests to see interesting wildlife and pristine nature. Kids can learn about the geography of the islands. As well as see interesting animals above and below the water like iguanas, nurse sharks, and seabirds.

Keeping Kids Entertained at a Private Villa

Your private villa also offers plenty of activities for little ones. In fact, Triton Luxury Villa is perfectly set up for families. The villa is equipped with toys for young children and cribs and high chairs for babies. The bedrooms on Triton’s lower level are ideal for families with small children. The rental of bouncy castles and outdoor play toys are very popular for children of various ages.

Activities at Triton range from indoor fun like art classes to outdoor play sessions on the villa’s lawn area. The villa can arrange swimming lessons with instructors in the two pools. As well as tennis lessons with instructors who will come to Triton’s private tennis court. For older kids, kayaking, kiteboarding, and paddleboarding lessons are available right on Long Bay Beach. Guests can also go on bike riding trips around the Long Bay area.

Family-friendly Cuisine

Another enjoyable aspect of staying in a private villa is that your chef will prepare meals that appeal to everyone. Triton’s resident chef has a great deal of experience cooking healthy and delicious meals that kids love. You can also plan a cookie-making class with our concierge. Dining out is an option, as many restaurants cater to little ones. Favorites are Turkberry for frozen yogurt and Da Conch Shack for ribs, chicken, steak, and more.

What to Pack on a Family Vacation to Turks and Caicos?

Family Triton Villa 2.1
Family Vacations in Turks and Caicos 2
  • Reef Safe Sunscreen — Although you might not feel the heat because of the trade winds from Long Bay Beach, it can quickly catch up when spending time outside. We encourage our guests to use Reef Safe sunscreen when snorkeling to protect the island’s beautiful reefs.
  • Lip balm with sunscreen — When it comes to sun protection, lips are often neglected, but they get just as much sun as the rest of the face. A lip balm with SPF can prevent burns and chapped lips.
  • Hats or visors — Sun protection for the head is key for preventing burns and sunstrokes, especially on outdoor excursions like boat trips and horseback rides.
  • Rash guards — If you plan to enjoy water sports, a rash guard is great for protecting adults and kids from sunburns and abrasions.
  • Aloe or after-sun cream — Sunburns can happen even with the best intentions. Aloe gel or after-sun cream hydrates and soothes sore sunburnt skin.
  • Bug spray — Triton doesn’t have issues with mosquitos because of the consistent winds, but you might encounter these pesky bugs elsewhere on the island, especially at dusk and dawn and whilst spending time inland.
  • Packaged snacks for kids — The grocery stores on Providenciales have popular kid-approved snacks, but there is a limited selection of brands. If your kids are picky or not keen on trying new foods, you may want to bring some of their favorite snacks from home.
  • Diapers and baby care items — There are limited baby care brands available on Providenciales, so it’s best to bring a supply if you care about the brand you use.
